Root Means Squared was born with a profound intention to evoke contemplation without imposing a fixed interpretation. Designed to be as versatile as your imagination, the name carries the unique ability to acquire the significance you wish it to hold. Its origins trace back to a pivotal school project where creative exploration led me to delve into the world of electronic amplifiers.

As a seasoned second-generation mortgage banking professional, my journey within the mortgage industry began back in 1994. Over the years, I have wandered the hallways of various mortgage companies, accumulating a wealth of experience and expertise.

In 1997, I embarked on my first internship with Wilshire Financial, a prominent name in the Portland metro area. During my time there, I was responsible for running files from the vault for servicing updates, setting up new loan files for underwriting review, and meticulously scrubbing funded loans for return to the vault. The late 90s witnessed the rapid adoption of computers in financial institutions, which marked the early stages of data intake and management compared to the sophisticated systems of today.

Following my time at Wilshire Financial, I briefly worked at a retail(ish) store called STUFF, well-known in the Portland metro area for its cultural significance. Surprisingly, the skills I acquired during this period would play a pivotal role in shaping my professional success later in life. The unique environment of STUFF honed my abilities to a degree I only fully appreciated with the passage of time.

My career path continued to evolve as I joined Millennium Funding Group as an Account Executive. Here, I received industry-leading training and gained comprehensive knowledge of the mortgage lending process framework, spanning from origination to servicing.

Subsequently, I delved into mortgage banking compliance and served as a subject matter expert with a couple of outstanding companies. These experiences deepened my understanding of industry intricacies and compliance practices.

For the past dozen years, I have excelled in roles within secondary marketing. As a manager overseeing lock desk personnel and mortgage-backed security pipelines for sale into the secondary market, I collaborated closely with diverse stakeholders, including loan originators, system administrators, underwriters, funders, doc drawers, insurance companies, secondary market investors, and c-suite executives. This position demanded a culmination of exceptional abilities and unwavering dedication.

Drawing from this wealth of knowledge and passion for the mortgage industry, I have recently founded Root Means Squared. At Root Means Squared, we stand committed to offering a comprehensive and customer-centric approach to mortgage solutions, providing the expertise, dedication, and personalized service that epitomize our professional journey.
